Bio

Helen Hayek is a rising installation artist located in rural Dorset, England. She is known for her large-scale sculptures, often showcased through multimedia theatrics that invite viewers to engage with and immerse themselves in the art. Helen uses a combination of sculpture, sound, lighting, special effects, immersive projections, paintings, and video to create these experiences.

Helen's creations are characterised by their boldness, audacity, and lavishness, often infused with dark humour and complex layers. Her artistry mirrors her feminist views, political drives, and personal reflections.

Her portfolio primarily features a diverse collection of sculptures, utilising materials such as wood, metal, ceramics, reclaimed items, natural elements, plastics, plaster, and fabric.  She is also a ceramicist and pottery instructor, creating and kiln-firing her work in her studio.  Past projects have included open-air installations, demanding stability, comprehensive health and safety measures, and public liability insurance.

Helen is passionate about facilitating and teaching, striving to connect with individuals who typically remain outside the art ecosystem. Her expertise extends to instructing a diverse array of participants, including adults, vulnerable individuals, seniors, and children, across various backgrounds in weekly sessions, workshops, and certified courses.

Helen thrives on collaborative efforts with fellow creators and has participated in various projects alongside her colleagues. She feels especially fortunate to be connected with the abundant talent at the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) and has contributed to team endeavours at multiple locations, including commissions for the Bournemouth Council in the Borough Gardens with the renowned artist Doug Fishbone.

Helen's creations are ideal for independent initiatives, public and commercial gallery exhibitions, community engagement projects, commercial businesses, major and local festivals, and private commissions.

Should you be embarking on a grand project or require someone to generate big ideas, Helen is your go-to person! For further details about Helen Hayek, or to discuss potential collaboration on a forthcoming project, please make contact.
